Multilingual chat
Multilingual chat that answers every shopper in their own language
WOLE is a multilingual chatbot for Shopify. It replies in the language each shopper writes in, across 37 languages, with nothing to set up, while your FAQ and policies stay in yours.
No setup
Replies in the shopper's language from day one
There's nothing to switch on. A shopper writes in Japanese and WOLE answers in Japanese; the next shopper writes in Polish and gets Polish. If someone moves from French to German halfway through, the next reply is in German.
- Follows the language of the shopper's latest message
- Switches when the shopper does
- Falls back to your shop's default language for anything else
WOLE's own lines
Handoff notices and order questions follow too
It isn't only the answers. The fixed lines WOLE sends on its own also arrive in the shopper's language.
So a shopper who has been chatting in Spanish isn't suddenly asked for an order number in English, and the notice that a teammate is coming reads naturally to them. If they leave and your teammate replies by email, the email that carries the reply is worded in their language too.
- The handoff notice when a teammate is brought in
- Asking for an order number and email
- The Talk to a person card
- The rating and contact cards, and emails to shoppers
Your knowledge
Your knowledge stays in your language
Write everything once, in the language you work in. WOLE reads your English refund policy and explains it to an Italian shopper in Italian. There are no copies to keep in sync.
When you update a policy or an FAQ answer, every language uses the new version, because there's only one to change.
- FAQ answers, policies and pages
- Files, links and house rules
- Brand voice settings
Your wording
Translate your own wording your way
When you rewrite one of WOLE's lines, such as your handoff notices, the languages you add decide which languages it's translated into, and you choose who translates each one. Adding a language doesn't change who gets answered in it: every shopper already is.
Your team can work in their language too. The WOLE admin is available in the same 37 languages, and each teammate picks their own.
- Auto-translate: WOLE's AI translates it
- Manual: you or your translator write it
- The WOLE admin itself in the same 37 languages

Questions about multilingual chat
Do I need to set up languages first?
No. WOLE answers shoppers in their own language from the first message. Adding languages only decides which languages your own wording is translated into.
Do I have to translate my FAQ and policies?
No. Write them once in your own language. WOLE answers from them in the language the shopper writes in.
What if a shopper writes in a language WOLE doesn't support?
WOLE replies in your shop's default language, which is English for a new shop.
Does it support Arabic or Hebrew?
Not yet. Right-to-left languages aren't supported, so those shoppers get your default language.
Is the widget itself translated?
Yes. WOLE's replies, its fixed lines and the widget's own buttons and labels follow the shopper's language, in 37 languages. The text you write for the widget goes out as you typed it.
